“The Social Reckoning” has a feel of “taking on Big Social”, with a touch of “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington”.
Jeremy Strong does a good job of playing a human who is a robot (or lizard alien) playing a human.
Jeremy Allen White performs well.
If you look at who wrote and directed this film, and you’re expecting “The West Wing”, you aren’t going to get it in this film, kind of like the people who stormed the capital on January 6th, who are also , but tangentially, depicted in this film.
You could do a double feature with this film along with “The Social Network”, if only to have continuity of the company depicted.
I was decently entertained.
However, in the final words of the lizard alien at the very end of “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension”:
“So what? Big deal.”
