“Digger” is a dark comedy that takes a left turn towards Schenectady, and then almost breaks the fourth wall in explaining itself to the audience.
It’s worth watching the credits until the bullfrog starts.
I’m pretty sure the choice of that overused song by The Ink Spots, you know the one , even though they all do sound the same, was on purpose to satire something.
But since I feel this way, I must care a little bit. but you won’t find me serving time- and-a-half up at Shawshank.
Kudos for following that song up by using another song by The Ink Spots which was briefly and partially sung by Jon Pertwee before accidentally, and ironically, blowing something up in his laboratory at UNIT HQ.
The film wraps itself up by looping the audience in one more time right at the end with “Level Four”. you’ll understand when you get there.
