The film “Caught Stealing” was more gritty than most of the trailer would suggest. The most honest part of the trailer being Matt Smith as a British punk rocker, and the Jewish gangsters.
If, partway through this film, you get the feeling that you are watching the love child of the film Pi, and “it’s always sunny in Philadelphia,” you’re about right. This is a Darren Aronofsky film. The ending credits music, and what he does with the ending credits match this vibe. I am glad I went to see this film.
This is the second movie I’ve seen this year, after the film “Black Bag” that manages to successfully close the loop on several story threads, at least symbolically,, if not as tight and clean as black bag did.
